
Eric Murray
Eric is an Ohio native who moved to Colorado in 1983. He served for four years in the Army where he was stationed in Korea and Berlin, Germany. He obtained an associate degree in electronic engineering in 1989 and went back to Berlin, Germany for one year as a civilian. He married his wife Laureen in 1990, and they have a daughter, Klaryssa, and a son, Dawson. Eric joined the Timberline Firefighters Volunteer Fire Department in Cripple Creek in 1993 and spent 25 years serving in that department and the Cripple Creek Fire Department as a reserve firefighter. He obtained his EMT and I.V. certifications and was hired by Southwest Teller County EMS in 1994. He went on to obtain his EMT-Intermediate, then Paramedic certification. After the events of September 11, 2001, Eric decided he wanted to serve the Country again, and joined the Navy Reserves as a Hospital Corpsman. He served in the Navy Reserves for 17 years and retired as a Senior Chief. In 2015 he became a shift supervisor for EMS, and in 2019 he assumed the job of EMS Director.
